I received a notification that my box was shipped on Friday the 2nd of December and it arrived the following Friday the 9th.

The BLMB ships in a plain white box with the company logo stamped on the front.

First look inside – quite excited by my bookish presents!

Before I outline all the items included in my box, I want to note that from what I’ve seen on social media, not all boxes were the same. I’m happy with my box, but as is human nature, when I saw some other boxes had extra goodies within, I did feel a little jealous at missing out! For example, these two had extra bookmarks and cookies, and another one had an extra book and bookmark as well. :O

Anyway, on with the unboxing!

Bookmark from Kristy’s Kreative Nook: this is an adorable little trinket, very stylish!

The next few goodies were tucked into a cute little seasonal bag…

…and inside I found a ‘message in a bottle’ with the quote, ‘If you judge a book by its cover, you may miss an amazing story‘, plus a tealight and a BLMB lip balm. 🙂

I love me some candles and my lips are perpetually dry, so this will come in handy, and the bottle will make an interesting prop for instagram, mwahaha. Ever since I’ve gotten hooked on bookstagram, I assess EVERYTHING in terms of how it will look in a photo and what ways I could set it up. 😉

In a nod to the holiday season, I received an edible item – a colorful candy cane!

We also received a TON of bookish swag – there were signed bookmarks and book plates, plus a magnet! 😀

And finally we come to the gift-wrapped books. ❤ What jolly wrapping paper – the presentation makes all the difference, I was so excited to rip into these!

Here is my stack of books. 😀

Love, Inc by Yvonne Collins & Sandy Rideout ($8.04 AUD):

Zahra, Kali, and Syd would never have met if their parents’ marriages hadn’t fallen apart. But when the three girls collide in group counseling, they discover they have something else in common: they’ve each been triple-timed by the same nefarious charmer, Eric, aka Rico, aka Rick. Talk about eye-opening therapy. Cheerful, diplomatic Zahra is devastated. Rico had been her rock and sole confidant. How could she have missed the signs? Folksy, flirtatious Kali feels almost as bad. She and Rick had only been on a few dates, but they’d felt so promising. Hardened vintage-vixen Syd is beyond tears. She and Eric had real history… Or so she’d thought. Now all three girls have one mission: to show that cheater the folly of his ways. Project Payback is such a success, the girls soon have clients lining up for their consulting services. Is your boyfriend acting shady? Dying to know if your crush is into you? Need match-making expertise? Look no further than Love, Inc.

The Nightwalkers – Jacob by Jacquelyn Frank ($12.39 AUD)

Since time began, there have been Nightwalkers – the races of the night who live in the shadows of the moonlight. Love with humans is absolutely forbidden, and one man makes certain to uphold this ancient law: Jacob, the Enforcer…

For 700 Years, He has resisted temptation. But not tonight…

Jacob knows the excuses his people give when the madness overtakes them and they fall prey to their lust for humans. He’s heard every one and still brought the trespassers to justice. Immune to forbidden desires, uncontrollable hungers, or the curse of the moon, his control is total…until the moment he sees Isabella on a shadowy New York City street. Saving her life wasn’t in his plans. Nor were the overwhelming feelings she arouses in him. But the moment he holds her in his arms and feels the soft explosion of her body against his, everything changes. Their attraction is undeniable, volatile, and completely against the law. Suddenly everything Jacob has ever believed is inflamed by the heat of desire…

Bring on the night.

Kiss Me Deadly – Tales of Paranormal Romance edited by Trisha Telep ($18.79 AUD)

For those who thirst for accounts of paranormal romance, Trisha Telep has compiled some of the most thrilling takes of forbidden love in this collection. First crushes and last rites; dark spells and bright magic; forbidden lovers and enchanted beings — and always, always the hungry games of desire. Pucker up for a darkly sweet collection of ghosts, shape shifters, fairies, unicorns, vampires, and demons in tales from today’s biggest writers of the paranormal persuasion.

Everything in the box!

Quality of Curation: BLMB promises a range of sub-genres within the world of romance, and the choices here certainly lived up to that – we have contemporary YA romance and a variety of fantasy/paranormal romance! I will note that these are not new releases – the books were published between 2006 – 2011, so if you’re particularly keen on more recently published books, then this may be a deal-breaker, but if you’re open to receiving anything and everything, then it’s perfect! And I appreciate the additional items that were included, which were either pretty or practical or BOTH. No dreaded stickers or badges, yesss! 😉

Worth It? This box was stuffed with books and goodies – the books alone amounted to $39.22 AUD, which is over $10 more than the cost of the box so it’s definitely good value for the money I invested! The additional bookish items included, which would probably add another $5 – $7 value, not to mention the signed items which are invaluable to those who love collecting autographs from authors!

Personal Rating: 4 out of 5 kitties approve this box!

DisclaimerI purchased this box, and this review is based on my personal opinion. No compensation was received.
